- If you borrowed a Stafford Loan at another school under the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Program, please follow the above steps. The University of Notre Dame does not participate in the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Program.
- If you borrowed a Stafford Loan while enrolled at another school from a lender not on the Notre Dame Suggested Lender list, you are encouraged to review the benefits offered by the Suggested Lenders. If, after reviewing these benefits, you would like to select one of the Suggested Lenders, please follow the process above. If you decide to continue the borrowing relationship with your previous lender, please be sure your lender is set up to disburse electronically via the ELM National Disbursement Network. Whether you choose a Suggested Lender or continue with your previous lender, you must complete the online entrance counseling as well as a new MPN.
