Prospective Students

At the University of Notre Dame, our students learn from premier academic scholars, participate in research opportunities, study abroad, and become ethical leaders prepared to face the future.  At Notre Dame, we believe real value is four years of education that last a lifetime.

Demonstrated Financial Need

Notre Dame is one of less than 60 schools in the nation that is committed to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of our undergraduate students for all four years.

Meeting each student’s full demonstrated need allows us to be more sensitive to a family’s individual situation and assist accomplished students from a wide range of backgrounds. The Office of Financial Aid thoroughly reviews each student’s application on an individual basis.

Of the freshmen who enrolled in the fall of 2019 and demonstrated financial need, the median need-based scholarship was $42,600.

To get an idea of how your family could fund a Notre Dame education, the chart below reflects the class entering in 2019. By providing the median (amount that falls in the middle) and the range we hope you are able to get an idea of the need-based scholarship commitment the University has made to reduce the price a family will pay.
